What personal training means here
For Fitness Two4, personal training starts with your real walking baseline. A weekly in-person training and review is optional; the daily system continues between sessions. That distinction matters if you live or work downtown and cannot set aside a fixed gym appointment every day. The year is organized around recorded steps, a practical food log and a review of what actually happened. An in-person session can help you look at your walking schedule, discuss obstacles and choose a sensible next step. It is not a promise that one meeting replaces daily practice.
A downtown Toronto starting point
Start with the streets, indoor corridors and routes you already use. A resident near the Financial District may add a lunchtime loop around the blocks near work. Someone around the University corridor may split a walk between a morning errand and an evening outing. A person closer to the waterfront may prefer a longer, flatter stretch when conditions suit them. These are examples of planning, not assigned routes or meeting locations. Choose safe, accessible surfaces and adapt for weather, crowds and your own comfort.
How the weekly review works
Bring your recorded step totals and a short food log. Look for patterns: which days had room for walking, which days did not, and whether the route or time needs to change. A 30-day month calls for 300,000 total steps to average 10,000 a day. If an ordinary lower day lands at 6,000, the 4,000-step difference can be spread across later days when reasonable. The review should make the next week more workable, not turn a low number into a judgment.
Who this approach may suit
This format may suit someone who wants personal attention but also wants ownership of the other six days. It may suit shift workers, condo residents, people with variable commutes and those who prefer walking over a rigid gym plan. The age-group pages offer different starting points for ages 30–40, 40–50 and 50–60 plus. Your current ability matters more than the label. If you are starting from a much lower baseline, build gradually rather than forcing the headline number immediately.
