Home / In-home and mobile personal training

Define the decision

A trainer visiting your home removes a commute but requires suitable floor space, equipment and building access. Ask who brings and stores equipment, whether a mat or bench is needed and whether the planned exercises fit the room.

What to ask and observe

Confirm the service boundary, travel fee, parking, elevator or concierge instructions and cancellation policy. In a condo, verify guest and commercial-use rules before the first session. A trainer should not describe every address as automatically serviceable.

Make the choice work downtown

A mobile session can be particularly useful when travel is the barrier. It still needs a safe environment, a clear plan and privacy expectations. Ask how exercises will progress when available equipment is limited.

Prepare the space without buying a gym

Ask the trainer for the minimum clear floor area and whether they bring resistance, mats or other equipment. Ensure the surface is stable and there is room to move without striking furniture. You need not purchase a collection of equipment before the trainer has explained the first-month plan and the limits of the space.

Condo logistics are part of the quote

Give the building name and entry rules to a candidate only when you are comfortable doing so. Clarify guest registration, elevator booking if needed, parking, loading and commercial-use policies. Ask whether travel time changes the session price or the cancellation window. A mobile appointment can save your commute but still fail if access details are left unresolved.

Maintain privacy and boundaries

Decide which room is used, who else may be present and whether the trainer records photographs or video. Consent for any recording should be specific and optional. Ask how progress will be documented without exposing your home or personal information. If a home setting feels unsuitable, a nearby studio may provide a clearer professional boundary.
